Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Removal

BRAKE: BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:  Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Front Wiper

13. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY See: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock

15. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS See: Brake Pedal Assy/Service and Repair/Removal
16. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the check valve.

(b) Remove the 4 nuts and remove the brake booster assembly.

NOTICE:  Do not damage the brake tubes.

(c) Remove the gasket from the brake booster assembly.
(d) Loosen the push rod lock nut and remove the push rod clevis.
