E351 MANUAL TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. DRAIN TRANSAXLE OIL

(a) Remove the filler plug and gasket.
(b) Remove the drain plug and gasket, and then drain the manual transaxle oil.
(c) Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS
3. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB NUT LH See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal
4. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB NUT RH

HINT:  Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

5. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH

HINT:  Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

7. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Wheel Hub/Service and

Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

8. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:  Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

9. SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Gear/Service and Repair/Removal

10. SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:  Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

11. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber/Service

and Repair/Front Shock Absorber/Removal

12. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:  Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

13. SEPARATE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

14. SEPARATE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:  Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

and Replacement/Removal

17. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL LH

(a) Using SST, tap out the transaxle case oil seal.
