E351 MANUAL TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Engine Control Module/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Exhaust Pipe/Service and Repair/Removal
3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Exhaust Pipe/Service and

Repair/Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and the No. 1 front floor heat insulator.

5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER LOWER PANEL See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument

10. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the control shift cable from the shift lever assembly.
(b) Disconnect the control select cable from the shift lever assembly.

(c) Turn the adjust nut 180° clockwise. While holding the adjust nut, separate the control cable assembly.
