AUDIO / VISUAL: REAR DOOR SPEAKER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

HINT: The procedures listed below are for the RH side. Use the same procedures for both the RH side and LH sides, unless otherwise
specified.

1. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Rear Door/Service and

Repair/Disassembly

2. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Rear Door/Service and

Repair/Disassembly

3. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Rear Door/Service and

Repair/Disassembly

4. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the speaker connector.

(b) Drill out the 3 rivet hands using a drill with a bit diameter of less than 4 mm (0.16 in.), and remove the rear speaker.
(c) Operate the drill around the rivet head circumference to cut out the flange.

CAUTION: Be careful. The cut rivet is very hot.
NOTE: Do not drill the rivet at an angle as this will cause damage to the drill and drill hole. Line up the drill and rivet, and carefully drill the
rivet head straight out.

(d) After drilling out the flange, continue drilling to push out the shards on the drill.
(e) Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the inside of the door.

1. INSTALL REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using an air riveter or hand riveter, install the rear speaker with 3 new strike rivets.
