Clutch: assembly overview |
Note
t | Gearbox removed. |
t | Before replacement of the clutch disk and the clutch press, a test must be made to decide whether the fault is originating from the clutch release assembly or the operation mechanism. |
t | Always replace any clutch plates and clutch presses with damaged or loose rivet joints. |
t | Ensure correspondence of the clutch disk and clutch press according to the spare parts catalogue and the engine identification letters. |

q | Check that the centring pins are correctly seated |
q | The contact surface of the clutch disk must not have any grooves and must be free of oil or grease |
q | Remove and install → Rep.-Gr. 13; flange and flywheel / driving disc remove and install |

q | The shortest lining -arrow- faces the clutch press |
q | Centering → Chapter |
q | Lightly lubricate the splines |
Note
Clean input shaft splines and (in the case of used clutch plates) the hub splines. Remove corrosion and apply only a very thin coating of grease Part no.: G 000 100 to the input shaft splines. Then move the clutch plate on the input shaft from side to side, until the hub moves smoothly on the shaft. Eliminate excess grease. |

Note
The clutch presses are greased and protected from corrosion. Only the contact surface can be cleaned; otherwise working life of the clutch will be reduced. |

q | Dual mass flywheel, Tightening torque 13 Nm |
q | Always replace. |
q | Loosen and tighten diagonally several times |
