Operation process l  Gearbox must be fitted

–  Remove bolts -1- and - 2- and remove central soundproofing panel.

–  Unbolt the heat shield for the right hand side wheel driveshaft -arrows-. –  Remove the wheel drive shaft from the flanged shaft → Rep. gr.40. –  Secure wheel drive shaft above, taking care not to damage surface protection cover. –  Place below the collecting tray -T20173-.

–  Unscrew securing bolt of right flanged shaft arrow. To do this, screw two bolts into flange and immobilise shaft with a lever. –  Remove flange shaft along with spring, thrust washer and tapered ring.

–  Remove flanged shaft seal by levering with extractor -T20143/2 -.   Note t  Do not damage sleeve. Otherwise, leaks will occur. t  In case of deterioration, replace the sleeve. –  Lightly lubricate outer edge of new seal.

–  Fill the space between the sealant lip and the dust guard -arrow- half way with sealant grease → Electronic spare parts catalogue „ETKA“.

–  Fit new seal as far as it will go using pressure tool -T20133- without tilting it.

–  Secure flanged shaft with conical bolt, using counterhold -T20005 -. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order, noting the following: –  Tighten the wheel drive shaft to the flanged shaft → Rep. gr.40 –  Oil level for gears: verification → Chapter.
