Installing

–  Tighten securing bolts -arrows- for master cylinder to specified torque → Item.

–  The retainer -A- must be fitted to the master cylinder operating rod -B-. –  Pull clutch pedal stop sideways off mounting bracket for foot pedal cluster. –  Press clutch pedal towards bulkhead -direction of arrow- until it engages, ensuring that it is properly locked. –  To ensure that retainer is locked correctly, pull clutch pedal slightly into passenger compartment and push both ends of retainer into clutch pedal using a screwdriver. –  Install clutch pedal stop → Chapter. –  Remove M10 bolt with nut from support for clutch pedal switch -F36-. –  Install clutch pedal switch -F36- → Item.   Note! Observe differing notches in support for clutch pedal switch.

–  Bolt cover to mounting bracket -arrow 1- and -arrow 2-. –  Hook relay plate into both retainers and screw in upper fastener → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.97. –  Install covers on driver side → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.

Clip -C- is pulled out. –  Insert pipe/hose line -D- into master cylinder to stop. –  Only now can clip -C- be pushed in to stop -arrow-. –  Push supply hose -A- onto master cylinder to stop and, if appropriate, secure with spring-type clip -B-.    To do this, use spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024-. –  Close bleeder valve.

–  Remove hose clamp -3094- from supply hose -A-. –  Install ABS hydraulic unit → ABS system; Rep. Gr.45. –  Bleed clutch system after installing pipe/hose line → Chapter. –  Install battery tray and battery → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27. –  Bolt on coolant expansion tank. –  Push connector onto coolant expansion tank.

–  Install battery trim -2-. –  Install air duct trim -1--arrows-. –  Connect earth strap to battery.   Note! Note radio code for vehicles with coded radio.
