1 - Dual-mass flywheel
q   Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.13
q   Check that the centring guides are correctly seated
q   The clutch lining contact surface must be free of scores, oil and grease
q   Note the removal instructions → Fig.
2 - Clutch plate
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Only replace with the pressure plate
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Clutch plate diameter → Chapter
3 - Pressure disc
q   With readjustment mechanism
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Check the ends of the diaphragm → Fig.
q   Check the elastic and riveted joints → Fig.
q   Replace only with the clutch plate
4 - Bolt M 7 - 27 Nm
q   Loosen and tighten in small steps diagonally
q   Replacement

   
Clutch plate installation position
l  The inscription “Getriebeseite” should face the gearbox.

Check the wear limit on the edges of the diaphragm
  Note
The pressure disk and the clutch plate must always be replaced together. Select clutch plate and pressure disk according to engine code → Parts catalogue.

Check the elastic and riveted joints
–  Check that there is no cracks in the elastic joints between the pressure disk and the cover and also that the riveted joints are correctly seated.
l  Replace the pressure disk if the elastic joints or the riveted joints -arrows- are damaged or loose
  Note
The pressure disk and the clutch plate must always be replaced together. Select clutch plate and pressure disk according to engine code → Parts catalogue.

Instructions for removal of the dual-mass flywheel
  Note
So that the dual-mass flywheel is not broken or damaged during removal, the bolts -B- should never be unscrewed using a pneumatic or percussion screwdriver. The bolts should only be removed manually.
–  Rotate the flywheel -A- so that the bolts are centred on the holes -arrows-.
–  Ensure that the bolt heads do not press against the flywheel, otherwise this would be damaged by rotating the bolts.
