Identification of torque converter
Identification of torque converter
There are various torque converters.
Previous torque converter with plain bearing in turbine shaft of gearbox.
New torque converter with integrated needle bearing.
They are identified by code letters.
   
The previous torque converter is only allowed to be installed in gearboxes with plain bearing in the turbine shaft. The differentiating feature is a B, C, G, R, T or V as the fourth letter.
Example -arrow- is a “C”.

The new torque converter is only allowed to be installed in gearboxes without plain bearing in the turbine shaft. The differentiating feature is a D, H, J or K as the fourth letter.
Example -arrow- is a “D”.
  Note!
If a new torque converter with integrated needle bearing is installed in a gearbox with a plain bearing in the turbine shaft, remove the plain bearing.
