t  Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. connecting the electrical connector), the person handling them must ensure that he/she is „electrically discharged“. for example by briefly grasping hold of door striker plate.
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
  Note
t  Make sure electrical connectors are correctly fitted and engage with a click.
t  Ensure that the door is properly sealed when it is installed, otherwise the crash sensor (pressure sensor) may not function correctly.
t  All components (e.g. cover, speakers, door trim) must be correctly fitted.
t  The retaining clips for the door trim provide a seal for the system. If necessary, renew retaining clips.
t  Ensure that no cables are trapped.
  WARNING
The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag or belt tensioner) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle while you are connecting the battery.
–  Connect battery earth cable with ignition switched on → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
  Note
If airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, event memory must be read, cleared and read again → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Information for the fitter: for example tightening torques, renewing components → Chapter.
