t  Parts marked with * can be repaired only by specially trained mechanics in suitable workshops since the refrigerant must be extracted beforehand.
t  A label on the lock carrier indicates the type and quantity of refrigerant used.
   
1 - Dash panel
q   Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.70
q   Removing and installing air ducts and vents → Chapter, Repairing heating
2 - Dust and pollen filter
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
3 - Filter housing
q   Replacing → Chapter.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
4 - Vacuum unit for fresh air and air recirculation flap
q   Ventilated: fresh air operation
q   Vacuum hose connection diagram → Chapter
q   Removing → Rep. Gr.70
5 - Air intake duct*
q   With fresh air and air recirculation flap
6 - Fresh air blower -V2-
q   To renew: remove stowage compartment on the front passenger side → Rep. Gr.68.
7 - Fresh air blower series resistor with overheating fuse -N24-
q   To renew: remove stowage compartment on the front passenger side → Rep. Gr.68.
8 - Trim for air conditioning system controls
9 - Evaporator housing*
q   With evaporator

16 - Non-return valve*
q   Permits air flow in direction of vacuum, blocked in opposite direction
q   Removing: first remove dash panel -1-, cross member and heating.
17 - Cable for air distribution housing
q   Identification: a black securing clip on sheath
q   Cables adjust themselves automatically after knobs are turned from stop to stop.
18 - Temperature flap cable
q   Identification: a brown securing clip on sheath
q   Cables adjust themselves automatically after knobs are turned from stop to stop.
19 - Heat exchanger*
q   Seals must be bonded free of gaps all around
q   If tabs do not engage when inserted or if they have broken off, bolt on heat exchanger.
q   After removal, completely renew coolant → Rep. Gr.19.
20 - Relay carrier
q   With air conditioning system delay relay -J70-; control number 168; in brown slot; delays the engaging of air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25- for 8 seconds to make starting the engine easier.
q   With air conditioning system switch-off relay -J365-; control number 147; in yellow slot; disengages air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25- for kick-down or at full load.
q   With cut-out relay for air conditioning system magnetic clutch -J246-; control number 94; in yellow slot. The engine control unit switches off the air conditioning system magnetic clutch -N25- via the relay for 8 seconds when vehicle pulls away from start or under powerful acceleration.
q   With radiator fan control unit -J293- (note spare part number)
