Clutch identification

If the gearbox is installed, the following procedure described must be carried out:

–	Remove the lower sound insulation → Body, exterior installation work; Rep. gr.50 .

There are a couple of notches -arrows- between the engine-A- and the gearbox -B- under the engine oil sump.

–	Check outer contour of flywheel through these notches.

–	The outer side of the flywheel can also be inspected after removing the small cover plate -A-.

Round exterior -arrows- = Clutch from the firm Sachs = -A-

–	Removing and installing the Sachs clutch → Chapter

–	Sachs clutch: repairs → Chapter

Outer contour with edges -arrows 1- and, in addition, a circumferential crease -arrow 2- = LuK clutch = -B-

Rounded outer contour -arrows 1- and a circumferential crease -arrow 2- = LuK clutch = -B-
