Measures in the 1st case
Measures in the 1st case
–  Do not switch on the ignition.
–  Using the fuel tank with the fuel drainage equipment -VAS 5190-, extract the fuel as far as possible through the filler neck → Chapter.
–  Remove rear right seat → Bodywork - Interior fitting work; Rep. gr.72.
–  Remove cover from fuel delivery unit.
  Note
Press in securing ring to release fuel line.
   
–  Remove the fuel supply unit (black or with black markings) -1- from the fuel supply unit.
–  Connect the line -VAS 6550/1- of the pressure gauge to the fuel supply line -1-.
–  Guide the open end of the line into a suitable container.
–  Connect the → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 and perform the guided function „electric fuel pump: check “.
  Note
The fuel pump is now activated for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat this procedure until the fuel tank has been emptied completely.
–  Fill 5 litres of Diesel fuel into the tank and, perform the the guided function „electric fuel pump: check“ empty.

–  Connect the fuel supply unit (black or with black markings) -1- back onto the fuel supply unit.
–  Fill the tank full with diesel fuel.
–  Perform road test.
