Cleaning rules for working on the fuel supply system, fuel injection system and on the exhaust gas turbocharger
Even small amounts of dirt can cause malfunctions. For this reason, when working on the turbocharger, fuel injection and supply systems, meticulously respect the following cleaning rules:
t  Before opening them, carefully clean all the joints and its surroundings with adequate engine or brake cleaning products and let them dry completely.
t  Immediately plug the joints and conduits that are open with adequate safety caps.
t  Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover. Use lint-free cloths.
t  Only install clean components: do not remove replacement parts from packaging until just before installation. Do not use parts that have been previously unpacked and stored away loose (e.g. in toolboxes, etc.).
t  When the system is open, do not work with compressed air. Do not move the vehicle unless absolutely necessary.
t  Protect the unplugged connectors against dirt and humidity. They should always be dry and clean before plugging them.
