Cleaning rules for working on the fuel supply system, fuel injection system and on the exhaust gas turbocharger |
Even small amounts of dirt can cause malfunctions. For this reason, when working on the turbocharger, fuel injection and supply systems, meticulously respect the following cleaning rules: |
t
| Before opening them, carefully clean all the joints and its surroundings with adequate engine or brake cleaning products and let them dry completely. |
t
| Immediately plug the joints and conduits that are open with adequate safety caps. |
t
| Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover. Use lint-free cloths. |
t
| Only install clean components: do not remove replacement parts from packaging until just before installation. Do not use parts that have been previously unpacked and stored away loose (e.g. in toolboxes, etc.). |
t
| When the system is open, do not work with compressed air. Do not move the vehicle unless absolutely necessary. |
t
| Protect the unplugged connectors against dirt and humidity. They should always be dry and clean before plugging them. |
