Checking combination valve
Checking combination valve
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-
Test prerequisites
l  No fault may be stored in fault memory → Rep. Gr.01.
l  Final control diagnosis has been performed → Rep. Gr.01.
l  Vacuum lines and hose connections must be free of leaks.
l  Vacuum pipes not blocked or kinked.
Test procedure
–  Remove engine cover → Rep. Gr.50.
–  Pull vacuum hose from secondary air inlet valve -N112-.

–  Connect hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- on vacuum hose to combination valve.
  Note!
Do not use compressed air during the following check!

–  Detach intake hose at air filter upper part -arrow- and blow gently into it. Combination valve must be closed.
  Note!
To release, press buttons on hose coupling together.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-. Combination valve must open.
If the combination valve does not open, or is constantly open:
–  Renew combination valve → Item.
