| Unplug the 4-pin connector from the ignition transformer -arrow-. |

| Remove fuse no. 18 for the fuel pump/injectors. |
| –
| Have another mechanic floor the accelerator pedal, opening the throttle valve completely. |
| –
| Test the compression with compression gauge -V.A.G 1381- or -V.A.G 1763-. |

| Operate the starter motor until the gauge no longer shows increasing pressure. |
