Measuring radial clearance of conrods |
Special tools and workshop equipment required |

| Remove conrod bearing cap. |

| Clean bearing cap and bearing journal. |

| Place a length of Plastigage corresponding to the width of the bearing on the bearing journal or bearing shell. |
–
| Insert the conrod bearing cover and tighten to 30 Nm without tightened to a further angle of rotation, without rotating the crankshaft in the process. |
–
| Remove conrod bearing cap again. |
–
| Compare width of Plastigage with dimension. |
