Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Adapter -V.A.G 1318/20-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Adapter set -V.A.G 1318/17-
Test prerequisite:
l  Ignition must be switched off.
Checking process:
  N20-0528
–  Remove the ventilation pipe -1-. To do so, press the release tabs.

–  Then connect hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213--1- as shown to breather line -2- to the activated carbon filter.

–  Move the ring -1- of the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to position -A- for „vacuum“.
–  Operate the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- a few times. Vacuum must not build up.
If a vacuum builds up:
–  Check if the breather hole of the activated carbon filter → Item is dirty, and clean if necessary.
If a vacuum does not build up:
  N24-10282
–  Block the breather hole -arrow- and operate the vacuum pump several times. A vacuum must build up.
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  In addition, disconnect hose between activated charcoal reservoir and solenoid valve1 for activated charcoal reservoir -N80-.
–  Operate the vacuum pump a few more times .
If vacuum does not build up: Renew the active carbon filter.
If vacuum does not build up: Replace the activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80-.
