  Note
t  Radiator and charge air cooler are two separate components.
t  The radiator is located above the charge air cooler.
t  The radiator and the charged air cooler have to be removed and installed together → Chapter.
t  Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter
t  Use pliers for spring-type clips -VAS 6340- when removing and installing the spring-type clips.
   
1 - Radiator
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Renew coolant after replacing.
2 - Coolant hose
q   To turbocharger
3 - Coolant hose
q   In charge air cooler at the top
4 - Coolant hose
q   To turbocharger
5 - Coolant hose
q   To the charge-air cooler in the intake manifold
6 - Radiator cowl
7 - Coolant hose
q   Coolant pipe below the intake manifold
8 - Coolant hose
q   To fuel radiator
9 - Expansion tank
q   Check the cooling system for leaks using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274 B- and the cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8-
10 - Electrical connector
11 - Sealing cap
q   Check using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274 B- and the adapter for checking cooling systems -V.A.G 1274/9-
q   At a pressure of 1.4 ... 1.6 bars pressure release valve should open.
12 - 5 Nm
13 - Plastic inserts
q   For fastening bolts
14 - Retainer
15 - Coolant hose
q   At the coolant circulation pump -V50-
16 - Radiator fan -V7-
q   With coolant fan control unit -J293-
17 - Cowling
18 - 2 Nm
19 - Heat shield
20 - 8 Nm
21 - Radiator mount
22 - Charge air cooler
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
23 - Coolant hoses
q   Housing for the thermostat
24 - Radiator outlet coolant temperature sender -G83-
25 - O ring
q   If this is damaged, replace it
26 - Radiator mount
27 - 5 Nm
28 - Coolant hose
q   To expansion tank.
