Engine number
Engine number
The engine number consists of up to nine characters (alphanumeric). The first part (maximum 3 characters) makes up the “engine code”, and the second part (6 figures), the “serial number”. If more than 999,999 engines with the same engine code are produced, the first of the six characters is replaced with a letter.

The engine number (“identification number” and the correlative number) are engraved in the forward separation groove between the engine and the gearbox.
Also, an adhesive sticker displaying the identification letters and the correlative number is attached to the toothed belt protection.
The “engine identification numbers” also appear in the documents carrier of the vehicle found in the Technical Support Plan for the client and on the rear part of the vehicle on the floor of the boot or in the spare wheel allotment.
