Safety precautions
  Caution
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine bay, due to the cramped conditions, pay attention to the following:
Route all sorts of pipes (e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, activated charcoal filter system, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum pipes and hoses) and electrical wiring so that the original positions are restored.
Ensure sufficient clearance from all moving or hot components.
  Caution
Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the injection and ignition system, the following must be observed:
t  Do not touch or disconnect ignition wiring when the engine is running or being turned at starter speed.
t  The ignition must be switched off before connecting or disconnecting injection or ignition system wiring or tester cables.
t  If the engine is to be turned at starter speed, without starting:
   
–  Pull 4 pin connector off ignition transformer -arrow-.

–  Pull terminal connectors -arrows- off all injectors.
Observe following if test and measuring instruments are required during a test drive:
t  Test and measuring instruments must be secured to rear seat and operated by a 2nd person from this location.
If test and measuring instruments are operated from front passenger's seat and the vehicle is involved in an accident, there is a possibility that the person sitting in this seat may receive serious injuries if the airbag is triggered.
  Caution
Secure fault reader to rear seat and operate from this position.
