Glossary
These explanations only refer to this assembly group: The brake system has no general value.
ABS
The ABS system is a device for regulating the braking system which stops the wheels from locking on braking.
ABS with EDS
Anti-blocking system with electronic differential blocking.
ASR
Anti-skid regulation.
ESP (Electronic stability programme)
ESP recognises critical driving conditions and stabilises the vehicle by braking each wheel individually and also by intervening in the engine distribution system. The procedure is carried out regardless of the brake or gas pedal operation.
Lateral acceleration sender -G200-
This records the speed on curves and the side on which the ESP has to brake.
Yaw rate sender -G202-
This registers the behaviour of the vehicle turn around the perpendicular axis with respect to the speed. In the case of a curve of more than 4º/s the ESP intervenes.
Brake pressure sender -2- -G214-
It detects if the driver is braking and is used to control the pre-charge pressure.
Steering angle sender -G85-
This is needed to determine the direction which the driver wishes to take and the real direction of the vehicle. The information is passed to the control unit via data BUS cables.
Speed sensor
The rev. sensors send the rev. signals to the control unit.
