Lucas rear brake calliper - general assembly overview
  Note
t  When repairing, fit the whole repair kit.
t  The new brake callipers are filled with brake fluid and have been bled.
t  Apply a thin layer of assembly paste → Parts catalogueto the brake cylinder, piston and protector ring.
t  If repaired, the brake callipers must be bled before fitting to the vehicle (without brake pads) → Chapter.
1 - Self-locking hexagonal bolt
q   35 Nm
q   To tighten and loosen, block the guide pin
q   Replace
2 - Vent valve
q   10 Nm
q   Before tightening, lightly grease the thread with assembly paste → Parts catalogue
3 - Dust cap
4 - Guide pin
q   Lubricate before fitting the protective cover
5 - Protective cover
q   Fit to the brake back plate and guide pins
6 - Brake back plate with guide pins and protective cover
q   Delivered as assembled part, with sufficient lubrication on the guide pins
q   If the protective covers or the guide pins have been damaged, fit the whole repair unit. Use the attached grease to lubricate the guide pins
7 - Protective cover
q   removing and fitting → Chapter.
q   Do not damage protective cover when fitting the piston
8 - Piston with automatic readjustment device
q   removing and fitting → Chapter.
q   First apply a thin coating of assembly paste → Parts catalogue
9 - Seal
q   removing and fitting → Chapter.
10 - Brake calliper housing with lever for the handbrake cable
q   Renew the brake calliper housing if there is a leak at the lever for the handbrake cable
q   After repair the brake calliper should be bled → Chapter
