Servicing rear wheel brakes (drum brakes) > < Separating brake pedal from brake servo

t  Unlocking tool -U-40015-
Work sequence
–  Remove the cover under the shelf on driver's side.
–  Remove brake light switch by turning 45° or 90° to the left (according to type of switch).

–  Press brake pedal firstly in the direction of the servo brake and keep it pressed.

–  Fit tool -U-40015- and pull towards the driver's seat keeping the brake pedal immobilised (in this moment the pedeal should not move backwards). Thus, the securing lugs -3- will be released from the push rod head -2-.
  Note!
For better clarity, the figure shows how to separate the brake pedal from the brake servo with the pedal gear removed.
–  Pull the unlocking tool -U-40015- and the brake pedal together towards the driver's seat. (on doing this, the brake pedal will be released from the push rod head).
Engage the brake pedal to the brake servo

–  Fit the push rod head in front of the housing and press brake pedal in the direction of the brake servo until the head is heard to engage.
The other installation operations are carried out in reverse order to the disassembly.
–  Brake light switch: adjusting → Chapter.
