Adjustable power steering pump, reservoir, hydraulic lines on Common Rail diesel engines (from 11.2011): Assembly overview
Adjustable power steering pump, reservoir, hydraulic lines on Common Rail diesel engines (from 11.2011): Assembly overview
Repairs to the adjustable power steering pump are not intended. If there are complaints, the cause of error must be determined through pressure and leakage tests. If there is any fault, the power steering pump must be replaced.
The oil circuit on RH drive vehicles corresponds to the circuit on LH drive vehicles, with the exception of forwarding the hydraulic lines from left to right on the steering drive.
  Note
t  Always check steering system for leaks if fluid level in reservoir is low.
t  Check the steering system for leaks when the level in the reservoir sinks.
t  If there are leakages in the connection area of the lines, the tightness of the lines/ connections must be checked first. Tighten them if necessary and wipe with a piece of cloth.
t  Never reuse hydraulic oil leaking from the system. This must be disposed of in accordance with environmental waste management regulations.
t  The pumps supplied as spares contain no oil. For this purpose, always fill with CHF 202 hydraulic oil before installing: Assignment → Spare parts catalogue and turn by hand otherwise noises can occur while driving or the pump can be damaged.
t  Oil type: Hydraulic oil CHF 202: Allocation → Spare parts catalogue.
t  Quantity of fluid in system: approx. 0.7 l - 0.9 l
