Steering lock body: Removing and installing
Steering lock body: Removing and installing
  Caution
Follow the instructions in the repair manual for disconnecting and connecting the battery to the letter .
  Note
To disassemble the steering lock body, the split bolts of the combined steering wheel column switch must be drilled. For the subsequent installation, new split bolts are required → ETKA (Electronic parts catalogue)
Removing:
–  Disconnect battery → Chapter.
–  Remove the combined switch from the steering column → Chapter.
–  Remove lock cylinder. → Chapter
–  Removing ignition / starter switch. → Chapter
   
Vehicles with automatic Gearbox:
–  Remove the clip -arrow- and unhook lock line of the ignition key extraction .

All vehicles (continued):
–  Drill out, or remove with chisel, the headless bolts -arrows-.
  WARNING
Risk of eye injury from drill shavings.
When drilling, drill shavings could cause eye injuries.
Use protective goggles.
–  Remove steering lock body.

Installing:
–  Fit the steering lock body onto the steering column with the new split bolts.
–  Fasten the headless bolts -arrows- for the steering lock body, until the head breaks off.

Vehicles with automatic Gearbox:
–  Hook the lock line onto the body of the steering lock.
–  Fix the lock line on the steering lock body with clip -arrow-.
All vehicles (continued):
–  Fit steering column switch. → Chapter
–  Install lock cylinder. → Chapter
–  Install the starter and ignition switch. → Chapter
