Battery with magic eye: verification
Battery with magic eye: verification
The eye may be used to gain information about the level of electrolyte and the charge in the battery.
  Note!
As the eye is only fitted to one of the elements, the indication is only valid for that element. An exact evaluation of the state of the battery can only be obtained by checking the idle voltage of the battery → Chapter
–  Before visually checking the acid level, tap the magic eye carefully and gently with the handle of a screwdriver.
The bubbles that may influence the reading should be dissolved
The information obtained using the eye will be more accurate.
  Note!
t  The formation of gas bubbles is possible underneath the eye, especially while the battery is being charged normally or while the vehicle is moving. These bubbles may influence the reading of the magic eye and its exactitude.
t  The magic eye may be in different parts of the battery.
t  Three colours may be distinguished:
–  Green → battery well charged.
–  Black → battery discharged or charge insufficient. Charging the battery → Chapter.
–  Clear or yellow → the battery must be renewed.
