Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  torque wrench set -SAT 8010-
  Caution
If the battery is not held fast, the following may occur:
t  Reduction in its service life due to damages from vibration (danger of explosion)
t  The grille plates could be damaged if the battery is not securely fitted.
t  Deterioration of battery housing caused by the clasp (possible leaking of electrolyte, costly and major damage)
t  Insufficient security in case of collision.

–  Position the battery so that the rear battery support foot fits under the retaining tabs of the battery bracket -arrows-.

The battery is well seated if the recess in the centre of its base matches up with the threaded hole of the battery -arrows-
–  Fit the bolt into the recess of the strip on the base of the battery and tighten to the correct torque → Chapter.
–  If the battery has a flexible tube for the central gas vent, make sure the tube is not caught. Only now can the battery be freely vented of gas.
–  The opening in the battery cover must be kept open in batteries without a tube for central degassing.
–  After fitting, check if battery is fitted securely.
–  Connecting battery → Chapter.
