Removing
–  Remove safety washer -1- that secures the connector cable to the selector rod.
   
–  Remove the connector cable from the pivot.
  Note
Do not observe -item 2-.
  Note
There are two types of transfer levers: plastic and metal.
Metal idler rod
–  Fit the idler rod → Chapter
Plastic idler rod:
–  Fit the idler rod → Chapter
Continuation for all versions

–  Remove the gearbox counter support -arrows-.
–  Remove the gear lever cover from the centre console → Chapter.
–  Remove center console → Body - inner assembly work; Rep. Gr.68.

–  Unscrew the nuts -arrows- that secure the protective casing.
–  Remove the floor protections from the bodywork.
  E34-0343
–  Unbolt bracket -1- from under the exhaust system.
–  Separate the exhaust tube from the bracket -2- and extract the support.
–  Separate the exhaust tube from double clamp -3-.
–  Unbolt the bracket -4- for the pre-silencer.
–  Remove heat insulation.-5-
–  Release the gearbox casing from the bodywork structure.
–  Turn protective housing on shift lever downward and remove together with lines. When doing this, do not damage mechanical parts and body.
