Installing
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
  Note
t  Clean the splines on the input shaft and lightly lubricate them with grease → Spare Spare parts catalogue.
t  The clutch plate should always be free to move on the input shaft.
t  Check if the dowel sockets for centering the gearbox with the engine are fitted and damage free, if not replace them.
t  Ensure that intermediate plate is correctly seated on engine.
   
t  Before installing transmission, press clutch release lever in direction of transmission housing and fasten with assembly bolt or M8 x 35 bolt. After installing transmission, remove bolt.
t  If the gearbox is replaced, the following must be reused in the new gearbox: selection rod and the relay shaft.
t  When fitting the pendulum support position the bolts in the support holes so that there is a maximum distance between the gearbox and the subframe.
t  When the battery is reconnected, coding must be carried out according to the fitted equipment; enter the radio code, adjust the clock.
The remainder of the installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
–  To connect the gearbox to the engine, the gearbox is fitted so that the right hand side flanged shaft is rotated towards the upper part of the engine. Adjust properly the bolts from the base - T20145- for the gearbox to have a proper incline when approaching to the engine.
–  Secure gearbox to engine.

–  Insert heat shield -2- so that lower lug hooks onto engine block and secure it at its upper part with bolt -1- .
–  Attach the support tool -T20138C - on the base - T20145-, and move these onto the engine and gearbox jack -SAT 1040- using the adapter for the hydraulic engine and gearbox jack -SAT 1001/1-.

–  When fitting gear selection rod, ensure that the cavity in the cogs -arrow A- aligns with the interrupted passage of the teeth of the selection shaft -B-.
Vehicles with start / stop system
  A34-0513
–  Connect the connector -arrow- of the gearbox neutral position sender -G701-.
Continued for all vehicles
–  Check gear oil → Chapter.
–  Bleed air from hydraulic clutch system, if necessaryy → Chapter.
–  Adjust selector mechanism → Chapter.
