–  Apply a fine layer of -G 000 100- grease on the strias on the primary shaft.
–  Move the clutch plate from one side to another on the primary shaft until it slides smoothly. Eliminate any excess grease.
–  Check that the engine and gearbox centering sleeves are fitted on the engine; if not, attach them.
–  Check that the plate between is properly fixed.
–  Mount the gearbox on the engine taking care not to damage any of the engine's components.
  Note!
t  To make it easier to fit the gearbox to the engine, slightly incline the engine. Slacken off the left screw of the grip tie -U-30025- slightly to make separating them easier.
t  On inclining the engine, check that no damage is caused to any of the vehicle's components.
–  Screw in the bolts that secure the gearbox to the engine on the lower part of the clutch casing.
  Note!
Don't tighten down yet the bolts that secure the gearbox to the engine.
–  Lower the vehicle down.
–  Screw right down the bolts that secure the gearbox to the engine on the upper part of the clutch casing. Tighten to the corresponding torque.
t  Tightening torque: See Tightening torques → Chapter.
–  Raise the vehicle.
–  Put the starter motor in its housing and the bracket for the front exhaust pipe.
–  Tighten the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine on the lower part of the clutch casing. Tighten to the corresponding torque.
t  Tightening torque: See Tightening torques → Chapter.

–  Screw in the bolts -arrows- of the rear gearbox bracket. Tighten to the corresponding torque.
t  Tightening torque: See Tightening torques → Chapter.
  V34-2543
–  Insert the coupled axles in the gearbox flanges.
t  Use a tool -U-40020- spanner of the appropriate diameter.
–  Assemble the counterweight -A- on the bracket holder.
t  Assembly position: According to the mark made on dismounting. If no mark has been made, the counterweight should be mounted on the bracket holder so that the greatest distance between the edge of the counterweight and the securing bolts faces forward.

–  Insert the connector finger in the connector shaft on the gearbox as follows:
–  Clean the threaded hole of the connector finger with an M8 tap.
–  Screw in a new retaining screw -1- in the connector finger.
–  Insert the connector finger in the connector shaft. The retaining screw should fit in the bracket -2-.
t  Tightening torque: See Tightening torques → Chapter.
  N34-0426
–  Fit the gearbox protector plate and tighten the screw -arrow 1-.
t  Tightening torque: See Tightening torques → Chapter.
–  Let the vehicle down.
  E34-0118
–  Screw down the bolt -arrow- of the rear gearbox bracket.
  Note!
Don't tighten down yet the bolt that secures the gearbox bracket to the spring lug.
  E34-0116
–  Attach the front gearbox bracket. Tighten the bolts -2- securing the bracket to the gearbox.
t  Tightening torque: See Tightening torques → Chapter.
–  Screw the front bracket bolt -1- of the gearbox right in.
  Note!
Don't tighten down yet the bolt that secures the gearbox bracket to the spring lug.
–  Remove the grip tie -U-30025-.
–  Tighten the bolts securing the front and rear brackets to their respective spring lugs.
