Removing –  Move the selector lever to position “Tiptronic”. The cable can only be detached from the selector lever in this position.

–  Remove the selector cable -1- from the selector rod -3- by levering with an open-end wrench -2-. –  Remove the control cable from the counter support by pressing the tabs -arrows-. –  Raise the vehicle. –  Remove the sound proofing. –  Remove the front lower trim from the underside, on both sides.

–  Unclip the cable -arrows-.

–  Unbolt the casing and disconnect the lambda probe connector.

–  Remove the forward section of the exhaust pipe. –  Remove the tunnel reinforcement.

–  Release the primary silencer. –  Remove the heat insulation plate from the tunnel.

–  Unbolt gear stick housing –  Carefully move gear stick housing and cover forwards onto the selector lever cable. Take care not to damage the cover.

–  Detach the cable -3- from the selector lever -2- with the screwdriver. –  Remove the catch downwards -1- from the selector lever cable. –  Carefully remove the selector lever cable from the gear selection mechanism.

–  Detach the cable -3- from the selector lever -2- with the screwdriver. –  Remove the selector lever cable from the gear selector housing.
