Installing viscous coupling
Installing viscous coupling
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal; when doing this, note the following:
–  Lubricate new oil seal for viscous coupling and shaft bevel gear along the outer circumference with gear oil.
Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with grease -G 052 128 A1-.
   
–  Drive in new oil seal to stop using -VW 454-.
–  Screw on centring bolt of viscous coupling with locking fluid -D 000 600 A2- during installation.

Do not damage centring sleeve oil seal in propshaft when installing. Do not cant propshaft, push horizontally onto guide pin. If damaged, renew propshaft tube → Electronic parts catalogue “ETKA”.
–  Check rear final drive oil → Chapter.
