Formula: „S2“ = „S2*“ - measured backlash + specified backlash
   
Example: 
 Inserted shim „S2*“1.30 mm
-Measured average backlash0.29 mm
+Specified backlash (constant value)0.20 mm
=Thickness of shim „S2“1.21 mm

–  Determine shim(s) according to table. Part numbers → Spare parts catalogue.
