1 - Dual-mass flywheel
q   Removing and installing → Rep. gr.13
q   Check that the centring guides are correctly seated
q   Contact surface for clutch lining must be free of grooves, oil and grease
q   Note the removal instructions → Fig.
2 - Clutch plate
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Renew only together with pressure plate
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   For diameter of clutch plate, refer to → Electronic spare parts catalogue
3 - Thrust pad
q   With adjusting mechanism
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Check the ends of the diaphragm → Fig.
q   Check spring connections and riveted connections → Fig..
q   Renew only together with clutch plate.
4 - Bolt M 7 - 27 Nm
q   Loosen or tighten diagonally in small steps
q   replace

l  The inscription „Getriebeseite“ should face the gearbox

Check the wear limit on the edges of the diaphragm
  Note
The pressure disks and the clutch plate must always be replaced together. Select the correct pressure plate and clutch plate according to engine code → Electronic spare parts catalogue.

Checking spring connections and riveted connections
–  Check that there is no cracks in the elastic joints between the pressure disk and the cover and also that the riveted joints are correctly seated.
l  Replace the pressure disk if the elastic joints or the riveted joints -arrows- are damaged or loose
  Note
The pressure disks and the clutch plate must always be replaced together. Select the correct pressure plate and clutch plate according to engine code → Electronic spare parts catalogue.

Instructions for removal of the dual-mass flywheel
  Note
To prevent damage to the dual-mass flywheel when removing, the bolts -B- must not be removed with an impact wrench or similar. The bolts may only be removed by hand.
–  Rotate the flywheel -A- so that the bolts are centred on the holes -arrows-.
–  Ensure that the bolt heads do not press against the flywheel, otherwise this would be damaged by rotating the bolts.
