Removing and installing securing washer
–  Secure gear lever -2-.
–  Insert the spacer sleeve -3- in the -direction of the arrow-.
–  Remove safety washer -1-.

Fit compression spring
–  Attach reinforcement -A- of compression spring onto guide -1- on the upper part.
–  Move the compression spring reinforcement -B- towards the lower part and insert it into the guide -1-.

For clarity, the selector bracket is shown removed.
