1 - Dual-mass flywheel
q   removing and fitting → Rep. gr.13
q   Check that the centring guides are correctly seated
q   Contact surface for clutch lining must be free of grooves, oil and grease
q   Note the removal instructions → Fig.
2 - Clutch plate
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Renew only together with SAC pressure plate.
q   Fitting position: The lettering „Getriebeseite“ should face the gearbox.
q   Clutch plate diameter → Chapter
3 - Pressure plate SAC
q   SAC „(self adjusting clutch)“
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Check the ends of the diaphragm → Fig.
q   Check the elastic and riveted joints → Fig.
q   Always replace together with the clutch plate
4 - M6 bolt -13 Nm-
q   Loosen or tighten diagonally in small steps
q   replace

   
Checking ends of diaphragm spring
l  Wear of up to half the thickness of the control levers of the diaphragm is permitted -arrows-.
  Note
The pressure disks and the clutch plate must always be replaced together. Select clutch plate and pressure plate according to the engine code → Spare parts catalogue.

Checking spring connections and riveted connections
–  Check spring connections -arrows A- for damage and riveted connections -arrows B- for secure seating.
l  Replace the clutch press if the elastic joints are too twisted or broken or if the riveted joints are loose.
  Note
The pressure disks and the clutch plate must always be replaced together. Select clutch plate and pressure plate according to the engine code → Spare parts catalogue.

Instructions for removal of the dual-mass flywheel
  Note
To prevent damage to the dual-mass flywheel when removing, the bolts -B- must not be removed with an impact wrench or similar. The bolts may only be removed by hand.
–  Rotate the flywheel -A- so that the bolts are centred on the holes -arrows-.
–  Ensure that the bolt heads do not press against the flywheel, otherwise this would be damaged by rotating the bolts.
