Front-wheel drive - renewing right stub shaft oil seal with gearbox installed > < Removing

Installing
   
–  Lightly oil new seal around outside circumference and drive in to stop, taking care not to cant seal.
–  Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with sealing grease for radial oil seal -G 052 128 A1-.

–  Secure the countersunk bolt for stub shaft -arrow- using the corresponding tightening torque → Item, the stub shaft must be locked using the counterhold -T10371-.

–  Then install new retaining ring -arrow A- and new O-ring -arrow B-.
–  Lubricate splines of stub shaft using grease -G 000 100-
–  Mount left drive shaft → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.40.
–  Check the gearbox oil level → Chapter
–  Install noise insulation beneath engine/gearbox → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
