t  Thrust piece -T10143-

Vehicles with turbo diesel engine
–  Remove bevel box → Chapter.
Continuation for all vehicles
l  The stub shaft must be removed and installed in order to replace the seal on the gearbox side.
The seal on the drive shaft side will be damage when this is done.
l  It must therefore be renewed as well.
   
–  Remove retaining ring -arrow A- and O-ring -arrow B- from stub shaft.
–  Drive stub shaft carefully out of bevel box.

–  Pull out seal for stub shaft on gearbox side.

Lever out seal for stub shaft on drive shaft side.

–  Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip of new seals -arrow- with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.
–  Lightly oil outer circumference of new oil seals.

–  Drive in seal to stop on gearbox side.
  N39-10314
–  Drive in seal to stop on drive shaft side.
–  Carefully use plastic mallet to drive stub shaft into bevel box. In doing so, it must be turned in order not to damage the polygon bearing.
Vehicles with turbo diesel engine
–  Install bevel box → Chapter.
Continuation for all vehicles
–  Check gear oil in bevel box → Chapter+.
