1 - Countersunk bolt, 35 Nm
q   Always renew
2 - Left stub shaft with compression spring

3 - Retaining ring
q   For deep groove ball bearing of input shaft
4 - End cover
5 - Bolt, 5 Nm
6 - Securing clip
q   Secure sealing cover with either the locking plate or the retaining clip → Item → Fig.
7 - Retaining clip
q   Secure sealing cover with either the locking plate or the retaining clip → Item → Fig.
8 - Bolt, 20 Nm
9 - Hexagon nut, 20 Nm and then turn 90° further
10 - Bolt, 6 Nm
11 - Gearbox neutral position sender -G701-
q   For vehicles with start stop system
12 - Reversing light switch -F4-, 20 Nm
q   Changed to captive seal shortly after introduction of gearbox.

q   Not fitted in all gearboxes

q   Note different bolts and specified torques.
t  Hexagon socket round head bolt = »through gearbox manufacture date 08 08 0« aluminium bolt M°8 = tighten to 8 Nm and turn 180°further
t  Hexagon socket round head bolt = »from gearbox manufacture date 09 08 0« aluminium bolt M°9 = tighten to 15 Nm and turn 180°further
t  External hexagon socket head bolt = steel bolt = tighten to 15 Nm and turn 90° further
t  Only for aluminium gearboxes with aluminium M 8 bolts = if replaced use steel bolts

q   If aluminium (bright), can be fitted only to an aluminium clutch housing

The lettering „AL Si 9Cu 31 (Fe)-D“ appears on an aluminium gearbox in the areas of -arrow 1- and -arrow 2-
„AL = Aluminium“; additional data is only for production.

Only for aluminium gearboxes with aluminium M 8 bolts = allocation of steel bolts if replaced:
Steel bolts have different lengths.
