| If edges protrude over the housing: Put washers with a total thickness of 8 mm on the bolt -arrow- that secures the assembly device -VW 792-. |

| Put the dial gauge (3 mm range) to „0“ with a pretension of 1 mm. |

| Loosen clutch housing/gearbox housing securing bolts diagonally until the bolts release the gearbox housing or output shaft. |

| If the correct shim has been selected, the dial gauge should now indicate a value between 0.15 and 0.25 mm. |
