Removing and installing selector lever handle
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hose clamp pliers -V.A.G 1275-
  W00-0451
t  Lever -3409-
Removal:
–  Shift selector lever to position „N“.
  Note
The selector lever is removed together with the sleeve on the lever and the basis with illumination.

–  Secure the interlock button in its extracted position with a bracket as shown in the display.
–  Hang-out the trim -2- using the lever -3409- and remove in the direction of the -arrow-.

–  Remove the basis with lamp -4- with the sleeve -3- via the handle -2-.
–  Unplug electrical connection -1- from the selector lever display illumination bulb.
–  Open the bracket -arrow- and remove the handle -2- together with the sleeve -3- and the basis with lamp -4- without contacting the interlocking button.
Installation
  Note
t  The interlocking button must be screwed out until its end position so that the selector lever can be installed. Then the handle must be secured with either a cable tie -arrow- or with the assembly aid supplied together with the new handle.
t  If, by mistake, the interlock button has not been secured, it must not be pulled out of the selector lever handle by means of mechanical tools. Position a compressed-air gun at the bottom of the handle and press the interlocking button out using compressed air.
–  Attach the handle across the entire scope of the selector lever (the interlocking button points toward the driver).
l  The handle must engage in the annular groove on the selector lever.
–  Remove the cable tie and the assembly sleeve. Then the actuation of the button is applied in the vertical groove on the selector lever. If necessary, using force, press the interlocking button into the selector lever.

–  Plug-in the electrical connection -1- of the selector lever display illumination bulb.
–  Secure selector lever handle -2- onto selector lever with clamp -arrow-. Use hose clip pliers -V.A.G 1275- for this purpose.
–  Insert and lock the basis with lamp -4- for fixing the sleeve -3- in the centre console.
