Identification of torque converter

→ There are various torque converters. They are identified by code letters (arrow).

On vehicles with 6-cylinder engines and some other gearboxes, the torque converter must be removed to identify code letter.

 
N32-0032

→ The current torque converter may only be fitted in the gearbox with a sleeve bearing in the turbine shaft. It can be identified by the fourth letter, which is either a B, C, R, T or V.

Example (arrow) is a "C".

 
N32-0052

→ The new torque converter may only be fitted in the gearbox without a sleeve bearing in the turbine shaft. It can be identified by the fourth letter, which is either a D, H, or J.

Example (arrow) is a "D".

If a new torque converter with integrated needle bearing is fitted in a gearbox with sleeve bearing in the turbine shaft, the sleeve bearing must be removed.
