–  With ignition switched off, connect tester -VAS 5051- to diagnostic connection with diagnostic cable -VAS 5051/1- or -VAS 5051/3-.

–  Switch on tester -arrow-.
Tester now needs up to 3 minutes to start up.
–  Switch on ignition.
–  On the touchscreen, select the “vehicle self-diagnosis” button.
–  Press the required button/function on the screen.
The automatic gearbox is only to be checked as described in “Fault finding. Power transmission” binder, after having first completed the self-diagnosis and the cause of damage cannot be located and rectified → Automatic gearbox 099 - 4-speed; Rep. Gr.01.
