Adjusting locking cable in vehicles before 06.01
Adjusting locking cable in vehicles before 06.01
  Warning
The description below for the adjustment of the locking cable must be strictly adhered to.
Adjustment prerequisites:
l  Locking cable in installation position
l  Centre console removed.
l  Selector lever in position “P”.
l  Ignition key in withdrawal position.
Adjustment procedure:
   
–  Unscrew bolt -arrow- on the support bracket.
  N37-0834
–  Push setting gauge for locking cable -3352 A- on between locking lever -1- and the locking cable eye -2-.
–  To compensate for play, pull cable sleeve forwards until you can feel resistance.
–  Hold the cable sleeve tight in this position.
–  In this position, it must be possible to remove and insert setting gauge for locking cable -3352 A- easily.
  N37-0828
–  Tighten bolt -arrow- on the support bracket → Item.
–  Remove setting gauge.
–  It is now essential to check function of ignition key withdrawal lock → Chapter.
