q	Removing → Chapter „Removing and installing differential“.

q	For flange shaft bearing.

q	Before installing, pack space between sealing lips with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.

q	Removing before removing bearing housing.

q	For speedometer drive.

q	Always renewing.

q	Inserting with grease.

q	Seating drive gear lugs into differential housing groove, straight face outwards.

Circlip

q	For securing input gear for speedometer drive gear.

19 -	Bearing housing

20 -	Bolt, 20 Nm

q	Checking gear oil with gearbox installed → Chapter.

–  First remove circlip on bearing.

Pressing off flange shaft bearing

Pressing on flange shaft bearing –  Install circlip.

Pressing off dust plate –  Always renew dust plate.

Pressing dust plate onto flange shaft –  Only press new dust plate far enough on until it is flush with bead -arrow-.

Removing and installing circlip –  Clamp stub shaft in vice with protective jaw covers. –  Use new circlip -A- to press old circlip out of groove in stub shaft.

Removing and installing stub shaft –  Remove O-ring from stub shaft. A -  Splitter -Kukko 17/0- B -  Splitter -Kukko 17/1- 1 -  Bolts M10×80 (qty. 2) –  Screw bolts -1- evenly against splitter -B-. –  Fit stub shaft with new circlip and O-ring and drive in with plastic hammer.

Drive on dust plate of stub shaft onto stop

Driving oil seal in onto stop with -VW 195- –  Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with grease -G 052 128 A1-.
