Front door electric window unit - removing and assembly

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-

t	Lever -T20043-

t	Lever -U 30800-

t  Removing → Anchor t  Fitting → Anchor. Removing   WARNING Disconnect the battery earth strap before carrying out any work on the electrical system.   Note During removal and installation, take note of small amounts of deviations depending on the equipment. Passenger's door:

–  Remove the cover -1- and the loudspeaker grille -2- using the lever -U 30800-.

–  Remove bolts -3-. –  Disconnect plug -2-. –  Detach the lining upholstery -1- from above using the lever -T20043-. –  Detach the lower fixings by pulling in the direction of the -arrows- and remove the cover of the upholstery. Driver's door:

–  Remove the cover -1- and the loudspeaker grille -2- using the lever -U 30800-.

–  Unscrew the bolts -2- and remove the housing of the window lifter switch -1- using the lever -U 30800-. –  Lift off the connector and remove the window lifter switch housing.

–  Remove bolts -2-. –  Detach the lining upholstery -1- from above using the lever -T20043-. –  Detach the lower fixings by pulling in the direction of the -arrows- and remove the cover of the upholstery. Continue for all doors. –  Move the window as far up or down until the edging clamps can be accessed.

–  Loosen the screws of the clamping jaws -1-. –  Move the window downwards until it is half opened.

–  Raise the rear section of the window -1- and turn to the front in the direction of the -arrow- to remove it from the guides -2-. –  Remove the window of the front door.

–  Remove the inner trim -1- using the lever -T20043-.

–  Unscrew bolts -1- and -2-. Both screws on the lower door section may only be loosened, but must not be unscrewed completely.

–  Unscrew the screws -2- securing the door lock. –  Remove the cap -3- using the lever -U 30800-. –  Remove lock cylinder housing → Chapter.

–  Remove the clip -1- of the door handle -2-.

–  Separate the subframe trim -1- from the door frame by first pushing the subframe in the direction of -arrow A- and then in the direction of -arrow B-.   Note The multi-contact plug of the subframe trim is secured to the A-pillar Carefully remove the subframe trim in order not to damage the cable.

–  Detach the cable from the holders -4- and -5- on the protection cover -1-. –  Remove the plug connector -2- of the protection cover -1-. –  Remove bolts -8-. –  Detach the guides -3- from the respective holders -6-. –  Unscrew the bolts -arrow- and separate the protection cover -1- using the door unit.

–  Release the plug connectors -2- of the door unit -3-. –  Loosen the screws -4- and remove the door unit -3- from its protective cover -1-. –  Take out the window lifter unit. Fitting . Fit in reverse order from removal, remembering the following: Tightening torques → Chapter –  Door lock adjustment → Chapter.   WARNING Before mounting the door trims, the function of the components must be checked. → Chapter „Synchronisation and storage of window course“. → Chapter „Automatic raising or lowering: Commissioning“.
