Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-
t  Drift punch
t  Remove the rear bumper trim → Anchor.
t  Install the rear bumper trim → Anchor.
Removal
–  Open the tailgate.
–  Remove tail lights → Electrical system; Rep. gr.94.

–  Unscrew the Torx-screws -2- of the upper part of the rear trim-1-.

–  Remove Torx screws-arrows-.

–  Remove Torx screws-arrows- with which the rear bumper cover is fastened to the bottom of the vehicle.

–  Remove the brackets -U30800- with the lever -arrows-.

–  Separate the bumper trim. Pull on both corners -arrow A- of the rear wing to take the trim from the middle anchoring.
–  Remove in -arrow direction B- .

–  Then disconnect the connector -1- of the rear parking steering aid senders.
–  Take the line section -2- of the licence plate light out of the bumper trim.
–  Turn the lamp holder -3- 45° clockwise -arrow-.
–  Separate connection.
–  Remove rear bumper trim -4- .
  Note
Supporting on any of the parts, put an appropriate material between front bumper trim and supporting surface to protect the bumper trim.
Installation
Installation is done in reverse order of the removal operations; note the following:
Specified torques
  E63-10235
Torx screws for upper fastening2.0 Nm
Torx screws for lateral fastening2.0 Nm

  Note
t  The fastening of the front bumper anchoring has to be checked with its fitting location, as its correct position is horizontal and parallel to the ground.
t  Check that the air inlets and outlets are not obstructed and functioning perfectly.
