–  When preliminary tasks have been completed, apply the glue.
   
Measures for applying glue
1 - Bead of glue
2 - Sealer
3 - Plate
t  Dimension -a- = 7 ± 1 mm
t  Dimension -b- = 11 ± 1 mm
t  Measure -c- is defined by the markings at the back window.

–  Rest the nozzle -2- completely on the glass.
–  Direction of application -arrow-.
  Note
the diameter of bead -1- will depend on the width of the hole in the applicator and the speed of application.

–  Apply adhesive using the window sealant gun -SAT 5350- or window dual-component glue gun -VAS 5237- around the window perimeter, onto the primer coat -1- or onto the trimmed bead of adhesive, at right angles to the glass.
  WARNING
The glass must be fitted before 10 minutes elapse, as the adhesive properties of the glue are reduced after that time.
Do not apply a very thick bead of glue nor press the glass hard against the bodywork flange, as the excess glue would be seen through the clearance, as there is no sealing lip.
–  Insert the window with two syphons -VAG 1344- used in disc cut-out, determine and apply up to the distance between piers.
–  Check the window glass clearances → Chapter.
–  During the hardening time, fix the windscreen with adhesive tape.
When the glue is dry → Chapter, fit the following:

If the sticking cord applied is very thick, and the adhesive spreads to the window heater zone, this adhesive must be removed once it is dry.
–  Fit the connectors for the heated windscreen.
–  Install rear wiper motor and then rear wiper arm → Electrical system; Rep. gr.92
–  Fit the tailgate trim: → Bodywork - Interior installation work; Rep. gr.70.
