Remove the undamaged window Side window with moulded surround

–  Mask area all around edges of window with fabric-backed adhesive tape -6- to prevent damage to paintwork. –  Penetrate the adhesive bead on the top of the disc -1- with the cutting tool -VAG 1351- in the direction of -B-pillar- –  Pull cutting cord -4- through to inside and attach to grip -3-. –  Secure other end in handle -5-. –  Have second person pierce adhesive bead at bottom with handle as shown. –  Pull cutting cord downwards on outside through adhesive bead -2-.   Note Employ sawing motion with cutting cord in corners to facilitate severing of adhesive.

–  Pull cutting cord -4- inwards and pierce adhesive bead -2- with grip -3- at rear of -D- pillar. –  Pull cutting cord -4- with handle to rear through adhesive bead.

–  Pull cutting cord -4- inwards and pierce adhesive bead -2- with grip -3- at top of -C- pillar. –  Pull cutting cord -4- with handle upwards through adhesive bead. –  Take window out of opening. Side window with high-gloss package –  Remove C/D-pillar trim → Rep. gr.70.

–  To protect paintwork, bond adhesive strip -3- to -C- and -D- pillars, as well as to side panel. –  Pull trim strip -1- to front out of fasteners -2-.   WARNING Take care not to bend roof trim strip.

–  Starting from below the decorative roof trim -1- at -C--pillar, use plastic wedge to carefully pull out of the fasteners. –  Also prise the roof trim strip out of fasteners at -D--pillar and pull the roof trim strip off downwards. –  Route the cutting cord around the side window as shown in the illustration.

–  The ends X and Y are attached to the two -VAG 1351/1- grips. –  Employing a gentle sawing motion, pull cutting thread in direction of arrow -A- and cut through adhesive bead at bottom of side panel and at roof frame. –  Then pull the cutting thread downwards in the direction of -arrow B- through the crawler. –  Take window out of opening.
